The mission of the Home and School Association is to promote the advancement of Catholic education and the welfare of the children. This is accomplished through the encouragement of high standards of family life, the promotion of parent-teacher activities, the support of our two major fundraising events in conjunction with the Development Office, and by providing educational and open dialogue meetings.
The Home and School Association Board is comprised of members who are elected by the general school population. This group meets throughout the year in conjunction with the pastor, principal, and assistant principal to organize and plan school activities. All families who attend St. Gregory School are members of the Home and School Association. General meetings are held each trimester. A general meeting includes an informative speaker, time to discuss school business, and a question and answer session.
Parents are highly encouraged to attend all Home and School meetings. Child care is available at no charge during the meetings. Student incentives are awarded to the homeroom with the most parent participation. Parents who attend all 3 meetings have a chance at winning a one month tuition credit (at support rate) for one child in their family.
The Home and School Association Board is responsible for the recruitment, mentoring, and funding of our school committees. These include used uniforms, elocution, service projects, math superstars, and homeroom parents. The Home and School Association also sponsors several school wide activities such as the Halloween Dance, new family outreach, the Eighth Grade Banquet, and the Care Committee.
In conjunction with the Development office, the Association also supports Catholic Schools Week, the Walk-a-thon, and the Grand Auction. All families are welcome and encouraged, by way of suggestion forms or email, to contribute ideas and comments which will positively enhance the effectiveness of the Home and School Association.
